Weighing Tubing Use this formula to determine the weight of 12 inch rolls with 3 inch cores only. Width of Tubing X 3.4 = weight / roll
Example:
Width of tubing = 12 inches
12 x (.002 on 12” O.D. roll w/3” core) 12 x 3.4 = 40.8 lbs / roll OR Width of Tubing X Length of Tubing X Gauge X 0.8 = weight / roll
Example:
Width of tubing = 12 inches
Length of Tubing in feet = 1250 feet
Gauge = .002
12” x 1250’ x .002 x .8 = 41 lbs/ roll
